Dolly Jib

We were shooting the launch of the Eco Hatchback for the Toyota Live show. In this shot you see the Cam-mate jib. We also used Fisher 10 Dolly, Xenon lights and Lightning strike lights plus Stage lighting. The Director, James Stewart, wanted a Rock & Roll look so we had a great time doing this one.

Mount Fuji

That’s me making a fool of myself on location at mount Fuji in Japan. Now I was told by the locals that the volcano only shows itself twenty nine days of the year. So I was excited to be there and see it on such a rare day.

Wood Work

I worked on a wood working show called "In the Work Shop" with John Sillaots and Ian Murray as the producer. It was a great gig, not because of the wood working that I was learning about, but that it was about five minutes from my place. Of course John was great to work with too.

Kids Overall 2

That's me shooting an insert of a kids show called Kids Rock on HD for Toyota. The director James Stewart did a great job. I loved the creative and the set he put together. We had lots of fun lighting it.

Italy Job

This Job was great.I had to train for two months prior to the shoot. We had to learn how to rappel and belay, not to mention how to figure out getting a camera to the top of the Alps in one piece. It is a pilot for an adventure show shot with a Sony F-900 HD 24p camera. It will go into production, because it was a blast.

Me & Joe

Joe Flaherty of SCTV is not only funny but is a nice guy. We were shooting a promo for Toronto One TV to show to the CRTC to get a license. The promo worked. We shot Joe in a cab, on a process trailer, behind a camera car, put a Pee Wee Dolly on track, and shot all night.

James Award

Director James Stewart and I shot the Toronto One Promo and won the PROMAX Gold 2003 award for Broadcast Network Marketing. We thought that was pretty cool so we had a picture taken along with a few drinks.

Gavin the Gnome

I DP'd three seasons of The Gavin Crawford Show with Ron Murphy the Director who can block a shot like no one else. Now I would like to say also that Gavin can remember a script like no one else.... oh ya he’s funny too.

Court HD

This is on a shoot where we had to create a courtroom in black limbo shot with the F900 HD 24p ca mera. The Director Neil Craig wanted the actors to line up perfectly so it wood look like it was live. The idea was to show it on three plasma screens side by side: one with the defense one the judge and prosecutor.

HD 3D

My First venture with 3D. The rig weighed in at 120lbs.
We used two HD f900. Most of the shots were off a Giraffe Jib.

I had W.F. Whites jib rigged on a Prowler Cart so we can move the cameras around faster to get in more set ups in a day.

We were lucky to get Peter Anderson ASC to do the matching for 3D.Director James Stewart did his homework, had all the shots storyboarded so it went without a hitch.

The project worked out great.

Bar Spot

This spot was for a better smile ... in other words dental implants. The director Brad MacDougall wanted a film look and 16x9 so it was shot on Sony F-900 HD 24p camera and transferred it to SP tape for the edit.

Camera Set

This was on the Gavin Crawford Show. We were creating a Rock & Roll scene. We had three cameras on a platform, so it just had to be shot once. We rented a hockey arena for the look of a stadium.

Tim Horton’s

The Tim’s shoot was lots of fun. When it came to lighting Producer Dug Bradshaw is a master. He normally shoots stills but the lighting is almost the same for motion.
We used lots and lots of mirrors for li ghting which gives you super control.
You will see the shots at your local Tim Horton’s.
