I have been an owner operator of a Jib for over fifteen years now. Shooting everything from Commercials, Movies, TV Shows, Live Events, Car Videos, Sporting Events and more...
you name, it and we have probably done it.
I started out with the Cam-Mate Jib with a hot head that reached 20’ft high. It was the first Jib in Toronto built by that company. We now have a new Jib called TheTriangle Super Plus Jib reaching from 6 inches to over 30 feet with a smoother hot head and a new 360-degree Dutch Roll Kit attachment.

It is smoother, stronger and can be assembled in 6 foot increments. Still as mobile as the first jib, you can move it form one location to another just by rolling it on the floor. You can mount it to a Fisher 10 dolly, or even a camera car.... what ever takes a mitchell plate. It assembles in about 30 minutes, depending on the location and can run on AC or DC power.

This piece of equipment can give your production a great look, making it stand out from all the rest.

* Manufacturers name of given arm lengths.
** Measurement from tripod fulcrum to camera. Depending upon specific camera, actual length to lens will be slightly longer.
*** Tail length includes weights that extend beyond actual jib tail.
**** Overslung and underslung measurements dependent upon tripod height and actual camera.
*****Riser size depends on swing of arm - given measurements are for 180 degree swing. Using conventional 4' x 8' riser sections will result in larger footprint.
******Giant 13' reach arm can be configured with 2 different size tails. The longer tail (6' 7") greatly decreases counterbalance weight and increases camera payload.

Porta-Jib
The Porta-Jib is a great way to get movement on a shoot for a low cost. You can set it up on locations that are hard to get to, as well as tight locations such as offices or even airplanes. It’s moved around on wheels so you don’t have to take the camera off between setups. I use it for interviews, to shots of people at a computer, or talent walking through a set. Super versatile, it lives in my truck just incase we need it.
