Kabota

Ravenstone Productions
We shot this spot on the farm of Ian Miller the Olympic Equestrian. The director was John Gallaro Produced by Ravenstone Prod. We did four spots. The nice thing about shooting these spots was we waited for the best light. We started the day with sunrise then took a brake and returned for sun set. We were there for four days. I put as much movement into each shot with the help of a triangle jib and doorway dolly which helped the spots to move along. Also it was shot with a Sony F900.

Seniors' Money

Chopper Pictures
Produced by Chopper Pictures, Neil Craig Director. What I like about this spot is that it had lots of movement in it from Jib shots to Dolly and it looks like we shot it on 35mm at half the cost. Once more we used the F900 camera.

Toronto FC

This spot, as you will see, was shot all over Toronto. The director wanted to show off the multiculturalism of the city. It took us two days to shoot this one. We had a small crew so me moved very fast. Again shot with the F900.

The Bobby Orr spot was produced by Kerry Gordon and we won a Gold Promax Award. Gordon I will fill in for you anytime ... thanks

Sick Kids
Stonehenge Media Group
I shot this spot at Vancouver Sick Kids hospital with Stonehenge Production. James Musselman was the director. James wanted a soft look on the side of the image so I used a filter that knocked out the side of the frame. You can move the filter around to create the effect that is needed. It worked great. We also worked with singer Michael Buble who was a joy to work with.

Air Hog
Spin Master Productions
First of all, shooting little choppers that move really, really fast is hard work. I think the thing that saved me on this spot is all the car racing I used to shoot in the past... Ha Ha... But to tell you the truth it was lots of fun to shoot. The hardest part was keeping that darn little chopper in focus.

Sun Beam
World Design
This was a CGI shoot. The Director, Thierry Loa of World Design, wanted three setups. Each one, was to flow thru walls to the next one. We shot it on green screen. I put the F900 camera on my triangle jib. We then mounted it on a fisher ten dolly fitted with speed wheels for the track. The spot looks great and the client was very happy with the results.

Tim Hortons
EK3 Productions
These spots are meant for the in-store monitors and drive thrus at Tim’s. Its lots of fun to work with food. The best part for me is lighting the product. I counted up to 29 Lighting fixtures on set to light these products. Not much room to move around. We try for two set ups a day so the food stylist can keep up. I shot it with the F900 and my doorway dolly with boogie wheels to smooth the shot out. Produced by EK3 Productions and Directed by Ken Stuart.

Ford “Have you tried a Ford Lately”

Stonehenge Media Group
These Ford spots are lots of fun and hard work too. We shot the spots off of a camera car. The catch was that Director James Musselman wanted it shoot all hand held so we made a railing off the back of the camera car to keep me from falling off. Then I used my Easy Rig to support the HD camera that way you can Dutch and switch pan to your harts content without killing me during the day. We also used the Porta-Jib for the interview parts. Of course it’s shot with the HD F900 at 23.98fps for the film look.

Scotiabank “Cricket”

SONAR
We did this spot with a Sony DVW-700 Digi-Beta. The idea was to show that the Scotiabank was sponsoring Cricket. So we shot in studio, using a large flag as a backdrop, compressing the shot with a long lens. I liked the results.

The Bay

ICE Integrated Communications & Entertainment Inc.
We used an Arri 16SR film camera with a Cam-Mate jib. The goal was to have fun with the idea that a Queen lived on top of the Bay store. We shot it in studio for the close ups and on top of the Bay at dusk for the Jib shots.
Given the location and premise of the shoot (Queen on Bay), I felt it prudent to ask the transvestite during the break...
"...do I address you as Mr. or Miss?
The answer is simple: It is however I am dressed..."
was the reply.

United Van Lines
Stonehenge Media Group
This 30 sec spot was also shot with the HD f900 at 23.98fps. The location was tight and there were lots if setups to do. So we put the camera on the Porta-Jib which has wheels and moved it around the house without taking it off. That way we got the shots we wanted faster with movement in them as well. Also the location had lots of windows so I used them as the Key Light and Diva lights for fill. That way the production saved money on HMI rentals. The latitude of the F900 was able to handle the difference in lighting.

Aurora
Bone Digital Effects
The Aurora spot is a grea t example of a low budget spot. Everything was shot in one day with just me and Alberto Morales the Producer. We used the HD F900 at 23.98fps which made the flames come alive. I like the look of this spot so much that I had to put it on my site.
